FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW LONG HAS POWER OF 100 BEEN IN HAMMOND-ROBERTS?
Our initiative began Dec 2018. We are just starting and you have a chance to be there from the beginning! We are starting up with a core group of founding members and the help and inspiration of other established chapters around the world. Our goal is to establish a powerful giving impact in our local communities while creating awareness to our local charities.
HOW LONG DO THE MEETINGS LAST?
Our meetings are held twice a year; in April and October. Meetings are scheduled for approximately 1 hour. We invite you to come to the meeting early in order to spend time socializing and getting to know other members.
CAN I BRING A FRIEND TO THE MEETING?
Please do! Bring as many friends as you wish. Guests are welcome at all of our meetings. However, in order to cast a vote at that meeting they will have to be signed up as a member prior to the start of the meeting. Commitment forms will be available at registration and after meetings if a guest would like to join our group.
WHAT IF I CANNOT ATTEND A MEETING?
If a member cannot attend a meeting you can:
Send your blank signed check to the meeting with a trusted friend, they can write in the name of the winning charity once the Impact Award winner is announced.
Mail your completed check to us within 7 days of the meeting. Your check must be made out to the charity that received the Impact Award and can be sent to the POWER of 100 Hammond-Roberts at 1520 70th Ave, Roberts, WI 54023
WHAT ORGANIZATIONS CAN I NOMINATE?
In order to be considered at a meeting, the 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization must be based in Polk, Pierce or St. Croix counties. No national charities, programs or organizations will be considered, however, local branches of national charities may be nominated as long as the Impact Award dollars stay in this community. Recipients are expected to be registered 501(c)(3) charitable organizations and a minimum of 2 years of operation.
IS MY DONATION TAX DEDUCTIBLE?
Your donation is tax deductible. Only registered non-profit charitable organizations will be sponsored by the POWER of 100+group. Checks are written directly to the charitable organization and NOT to POWER of 100. One hundred percent of your donation goes directly to the charity. Tax receipts will be issued to you by the charitable organization.
CAN I JUST SEND THE DONATION TO THE CHARITY MYSELF?
Because the goal of POWER of 100+is to make a large donation on behalf of the entire group, the answer is NO. Our group wants to be able to support this endeavor and give $10,000+ at one time to make a larger impact in our community. Hence, the POWER of joining forces! We also need to make sure you get credit for your donation and remain eligible for attending and voting at future meetings. Only members in good standing can nominate and vote.
ARE THERE OTHER WAYS TO HELP THE CHARITIES THAT HAVE BEEN NOMINATED AT A BI-ANNUAL MEETING?
Yes! Take a look at the approved charities on our website for links to each of their websites. Each charity will have a list of ways you can help them carry out their mission. You may contact them directly to get more information.
HOW DOES POWER OF 100 FINANCIALLY DO IT?
POWER of 100 is organized and operated entirely by big-hearted women who volunteer their time. We have no employees or established bank account. Although some of our operating costs are offset by sponsor donations, most expenses are covered by the leadership committee. If you or the company you work for are interested in donating to our cause please let us know. All of your funds donated at the meetings go directly to the selected charity!
WHAT DO YOU DO WITH MY PERSONAL INFORMATION?
